It is with sadness that we announce the passing of GP Don Del Puerto. He was 62. Beta Sigma lost one of the best sons it has seen.
While we are heartbroken that he left us too soon, we join the countless kindred spirits In celebrating his life, who were fortunate to have walked with him during his life’s journey of compassion and generosity.
Within and outside of Beta Sigma, Don’s caring and giving, way of life came natural. He was no saint but he is one of the nicest person that you will meet. Some would say he was too kind and sometimes generous to a fault.
We will miss his Beta Sigma stories of campus life: academic achievements and non-academic ones, like the ‘physical encounters’ kind of thing during the glory days of Beta Sigma in the 70’s and the 80’s.
We remember his gentle smile, his thoughtful and tough guy Beta Sigma persona that you can always depend on.
We, Beta Sigma brods, Sigma Beta sorority sisters and everyone whom he loved and cared for the most, that have witnessed his kindness share our faith and comfort in knowing that he has secured his place in heaven, together with our creator.
